Dolphin EasyReader (Android)

EasyReader is an accessible reading app for Android. It supports a variety of formats and has features that meet a wide variety of student needs. These features include text highlighting, text-to-speech, and support for the TalkBack screen reader.

EasyReader is a free app available on the Google Play Store. Note: EasyReader requires the creation of a Dolphin account or sign-in with a Google account to use the app.

Sensory Access Features

Visual Interaction

• Adjust font type, size, colour, and spacing
• Adjust page margins and line spacing
• Adjust text, highlight, and background colour
• Words and sentences are highlighted as text is read aloud

Auditory Interaction

• Have text read aloud in a variety of built-in voices
• Download additional text-to-speech voices
• Announce alt text descriptions of images while reading
• Adjust word pronunciation (correct mispronunciations)
• Compatible with the VoiceOver screen reader

Tactile Interaction

• Read text in braille when used with TalkBack (and BrailleBack) and a refreshable braille display
